IRONTON GROOMING UPDATE: Grooming sled is “mostly repaired” at shop in Grand Junction. Waiting on 1 small part. Good chance grooming will resume by the end of the week. We will post another update when firmer timeframe is known. Thanks to Bill Leo for all his work on this issue, and thanks to OCNC members for their patience.

Ironton Update:
First, Red Mountain Pass is closed for avalanche mitigation. They hope to get it open mid-day Saturday. Check www.cdot.gov before heading up that way.
Second, the grooming sled needs a major repair. Bill Leo put a huge effort out to retrieve the sled from the trail and take it all the way up to Grand Junction. That’s where he found a shop that could start working on it right away. A big SHOUT OUT to Bill for making this happen! We will let folks know when we expect to start grooming again.
Time to enjoy some skier-broke tracks for a little while!

If you were wondering why no track was set at Ironton this last go around of grooming….
grooming equipment malfunctioned last time Ironton was groomed and a track couldn’t be set. The part was ordered, should arrive today and Bill will groom and set a track as soon as he can.
Later that same day…
Bill was able to make necessary equipment repairs, groom Ironton and set a new track today. He ROCKS!
